Communication
Positive communication is very important to keep the workplace as frictionless as possible. Positive communication allows for efficiency and effectiveness from the employees. The employees tend to be more cooperative as well. This form of communication will build trust and promote a more productive environment. I personally use more positive communication and try to avoid negative communication by teaching and training whenever possible.

Negative Communication is the form of communication that is harder to deliver, but nonetheless, needs to be delivered at times. How it is delivered is crucial. When I give constructive criticism I make sure to watch my body language. I let the person know that it is constructive for their benefit. I make sure my emotions are in check and I stay calm while delivering the message in a private area to keep confidentiality and respect for the employee. I make sure that the feedback is behavior oriented and not directed at the person specifically. I make sure to give time for the employee to respond and allow them to focus on an action plan for improvement. Lastly, I follow up to make sure that the employee is implementing the expectations of the action plan.
